UNLIMITED Online Back-Up Services By DataDaddy.com
DataDaddy.com is at it again! This time round, they’ve introduced top range unlimited data back-up service that are cheaper and better than any you would find anywhere else.
London – 13th May, 2010 – DataDaddy.com, one of the leading data handling and back-up services provider in the United Kingdom today launched its new range of unlimited back-up services.
DataDaddy.com has developed improved and next-gen unlimited back-up packages that will ensure that data stored is better secured and easily accessible whenever needed. Unlimited online back-up service will enable clients to back-up huge volumes of data on secured servers of DataDaddy. This will allow each client to access his data at anytime from anywhere. According to the technical team, all that a customer requires to access his data is a computer with an active internet connection.
Customers will be able to access their data only after entering their password at DataDaddy’s website. According to the firm, this will prevent access to customers’ files by unauthorized persons. Customers can now relax as it will be impossible for third persons to access their data that is backed up at DataDaddy’s servers. Another advantage that the data back-up service has to customers is elimination of data handling related problems arising from lost records or corrupted files.
DataDaddy.com has added DataDaddy Basic and DataDaddy Pro services under its belt. These two unlimited data back-up services make only a fraction of the wide range of services provided by the data handling company. The CEO of the firm explained, “The Technical Team at DataDaddy.com was tasked with the development of these back-up solutions after research showed that the demand for unlimited storage for both personal and commercial usage was wanting.”
According to the release notes by DataDaddy Technical Team, both services are efficient and easy to use. As a matter of fact, no special training is needed to use either of them. From information gathered at their website, customers will only require an internet enabled computer to gain access to their data.
Under DataDaddy Basic package, customers will enjoy a wide range of features. To begin with, they will have unlimited storage space to store files of whatever format. With the package comes unlimited bandwidth that will allow them to transfer unlimited volumes of data every month. With the Basic package, customers will be able to enjoy unlimited transfer speeds with no throttles. They will also be able to install the DataDaddy software on unlimited number of computers.
The Basic package allows web portal and supports the major browsers. Users will be able to view their pictures, videos and documents online as long as they are logged in their accounts. While on the go, they can listen to their music, read documents and view photos using an iPhone app. This Basic package also allows them to view their files over their mobile phones. The Package only costs £2.95 per month or £29.50 for the entire year and is one of the cheapest packages in the data back-up industry at the moment.
The DataDaddy Pro Package has everything in the Basic Package but with some extras. Users will enjoy the functionality and convenience of having the files they frequently use well ordered and stored in DataDaddy briefcase. With the Pro Package, customers can have their DataDaddy storage accounts displayed as a drive on their PCs. They will only need to click to access their files as if they were stored in their computer. The Pro Package will allow the user to edit Office documents and photos online, a feature that is not provided in the Basic Package.
The user will be able to drag and drop media to and from Facebook, SmugMug, Flickr and the like right from the web portal. The Pro Package allows customers to share files either publicly or privately using simple web links. Unlike the Basic Package, users will access full FTP support with the Pro Package. The Pro Package costs £7.95 per month or £79.50 per year. This is the best value for money and is also one of the cheapest Pro packages available currently.
Both services support Windows platform and are activated instantly online. Customers of either package are accorded 24 hour customer support via email.
About DataDaddy DataDaddy.com is creating technology that will revolutionise the way people store and access their files, photos, music, videos and other digital content. With computers being vulnerable to crashes and unauthorized access by third parties, why should you store valuable data on them when there is a better option of DataDaddy storage? DataDaddy.com is your personal storage space on the Internet. The storage space is unlimited, secure and it's there forever. DataDaddy.com is based in London, UK. What makes DataDaddy Backup special?
There are many things about DataDaddy Backup that make it stand out from other backup solutions. Here are just a few of them:
- Extremely easy to set up - our simple step-by-step setup wizard helps you choose which files you want to backup. It literally takes a minute, and once you're done, you don't need to worry about it ever again.
- Backs up your files as you work - you don't need to worry about leaving your computer on overnight, or your backup suddenly starting up at a set time when you're trying to do something else. You certainly don't need to remember to do anything. DataDaddy Backup just silently backs up your files as you work, so as soon as you change a file it's instantly protected.
- Stored off-site for complete safety - unlike backing up to an external drive, CD or DVD, DataDaddy Backup copies your files to our secure servers in our carrier-grade data centres. This means that if the worst should happen- fire or theft - your data is still securely backed up in a completely different location to your PC.
- Completely unlimited storage space - you can back up as much as you want with DataDaddy. You don't need to worry about your CD, DVD or backup tape being full - it will just keep backing up no matter how much you have on your PC.
- Restore previous versions of files - sometimes a file is not lost or damaged, it's just been changed in a way you don't want. Maybe someone made alterations to a file and you need to restore it to a previous version. With DataDaddy Backup you can - it stores the last 30 versions of any file, and you can download the older editions with one click.
- View your backup files online from anywhere - your backups are not compressed into some obscure format or hidden in a dusty filing cabinet - they're live online. Simply log in to your secure web portal and view them from anywhere. You can even play your music, view your Office documents, watch your movies and display your photos right from within your web browser!

Software Upgrade
by
Steve
on Mon 22 Mar 2010 17:34 GMT
Over the last year the Livedrive development team have made significant improvements to our technology – we’ve added a wealth of new features across all of our systems and software, and we’re really pleased with the huge amount of positive feedback that we’ve had from our users. We’re planning the next round of major improvements now, and have some really exciting functionality on our roadmap, but over the past month we took the opportunity to take a deep breath and review where we’ve got to.
To do this, we’ve been working closely with a number of our top users to find out how they use Livedrive, what they want improved in the existing technology, and investigate any problems they’re seeing. The result of this is the newest Windows desktop software – there’s not much to see on the front end, but there are a huge number of improvements to the backend and the way the software does it’s job.
The list of improvements is massive, but here’s a potted summary of some of the change we’ve made:
- Improved Performance – some our top users backup a lot of files, and have hundreds of gigabytes of data on their Livedrive Briefcase. Livedrive has always been designed to minimize it’s impact on your computer, but some older computers were still being affected when there was a lot going on. This new client has improvements to significantly reduce this impact, and also puts in place technology that will let us tweak and develop this over time.
- Lower bandwidth – in order to keep your backups and Briefcase up to date, the Livedrive desktop software needs to communicate regularly with our servers. We’ve worked hard on optimizing this communication, so that it only sends messages when truly necessary. This reduces the amount of bandwidth that the Livedrive software uses, and lets the software concentrate on other tasks instead.
- Greater character set support – many of our users don’t just have filenames in English – they have filenames in Japanese, Chinese, Cyrillic and many other character sets. Livedrive has always supported these character sets, but some users were having problems sharing such files from within the Windows desktop software. This problem is now resolved.
- Improved status screen performance – the new Detailed Status look and feel was released in early February, and many users have commented that it makes it far easier to understand what Livedrive is up to at any point in time. The newest version has improved performance, and fixes a rare bug where some users saw an error message when they scrolled down the list
- Improved robustness – the desktop software has to deal with a huge number of challenges on a regular basis. Internet connections can be unreliable, wifi can drop in and out, external drives can be removed, files can be in use or can change very quickly, and computers can crash or freeze. At all times the Livedrive desktop software has to be able to deal with these issues and pick up exactly where it left off – and it’s always been designed to do this. The newest client has improvements to the way it handles many of these situations so that it is able to recover faster than before.
The new software has been rolled out as a critical update today, and because the changes are so wide ranging we’re going to be removing support for older versions over the next week, so please upgrade now. We’d love to hear your feedback on the latest changes – please leave a comment below, or send questions or suggestions to
